Help During Disasters
The Best Way to Help
During disasters, the best way you can help survivors is to contribute financially. Cash donations allow disaster responders to immediately meet the specific needs of disaster survivors without incurring many of the costs associated with sorting, packing, transporting and distributing donated goods. Salvation Army disaster services are funded entirely by donors, and The Salvation Army uses 100% of all disaster donations in support of disaster relief operations.
The Salvation Army has opportunities for you to serve in times of disaster with volunteer teams. We provide training across a wide range of volunteer support services and keep you connected with your local Salvation Army for updated information.
If you are interested in learning more about these opportunities, please visit our national disaster services website.
Host a Food Drive
Our goal is to keep the pantry supplied so no one in the counties of Marinette and Menominee experience hunger.
During cold winter months, many children arrive at school without a warm coat. The Salvation Army Coats for Kids program provides an average of 600 new and gently used coats to children living in the communities of Marinette and Menominee. Donate coats and receive a free session at Gregory's Portrait Art, Inc. To learn more about this offer, call (715) 735-5767.
Donate School Supplies
The Salvation Army will be collecting school supplies, new clothing and money to purchase needed items. Children's names will also be available by calling The Salvation Army at (715) 735-7448 or by taking a tag from The Pine Tree Mall.
Donations can be dropped off at Waupaca Foundry, Walmart, ShopKo, Pine Tree Mall, L.E. Jones, Dunn Paper, Stephenson National Bank and Trust, Victory Physical Therapy and Wellness and Nicolet National Bank between July 5- August 14, 2017.
Host a Toy Drive
New toys and clothing during the holiday season are always needed. Approximately 350 children receive toys through this program. If you are interested in making a donation, please bring it to The Salvation Army or one of the sponsoring businesses. (Watch for the list soon!)
