Angel Giving Tree set to provide hundreds of families with Christmas gifts

LA CROSSE – A tree that brings joy to hundreds of children every year will soon light up for another Christmas season in La Crosse County.
The Salvation Army’s Angel Giving Tree is set to go live at Valley View Mall on Monday, November 18th.  Along with Christmas decorations, the Tree also displays tags that feature children signed up for the program – which provides each child with brand new clothing, such as a new shirt & pants. Tags include a child’s name, age, clothing sizes, and some of their interests. Donors are asked to take a tag and play the role of ‘Santa Claus’.

The Angel Giving Tree will be on display at Valley View Mall until Friday, December 6th.  Presents can be returned to the Tree or to The Salvation Army.  Shoppers are asked to include the original tag and a gift receipt with the presents not wrapped.  Gifts are asked to be returned no later than Monday, December 9th.  Distribution of the presents will be held on Tuesday, December 17th.
Trees with tags will also be featured at Advanced Auto Parts, located at 2801 Losey Blvd S in La Crosse.  Businesses, organizations, and individuals that would like to sponsor large amounts of tags are asked to call The Salvation Army at (608)782-6126.

The Salvation Army of La Crosse County recommends that no more than $25-$40 is spent on each tag. If sponsors would like to spend more, The Salvation Army of La Crosse County is asking that more tags be taken to help cover the more than 1,000 expected children needing assistance.
