LA CROSSE – The Salvation Army of La Crosse County is making proactive steps to help meet human needs without discrimination.
Employees at The Salvation Army of La Crosse County will take a training course known as The Safe Zone Project, a training course providing opportunities to learn about LGBTQ+ identities, gender and sexuality, and examine prejudice, assumptions, and privilege. The Salvation Army of La Crosse's Emergency Shelter is non-discriminatory and open to men, women, and families with the only stipulation is that persons eligible for shelter must not be listed on the sex offender registry.
“The Salvation Army is proud to serve anyone who is need of assistance,” says Major Jeff Richardson of The Salvation Army of La Crosse County, “This training will not only better equip our team to help those in the community we aim to serve, but it will allow us to better understand and emphasize with their individual struggles.”
The Safe Zone Project training will be held at The Salvation Army of La Crosse County on Tuesday, March 3rd from 10am – 3pm. The training course will take two hours to complete, allowing for employees two separate opportunities to take the training.
