Salvation Army now taking appointments for Christmas program registration

LA CROSSE – Hundreds of families that are looking for community support during the holidays are now one step closer to getting the help they need.

The Salvation Army of La Crosse is now taking appointments for people to sign up for the Angel Giving Tree and Christmas food basket assistance. Families that want to sign up for the programs are required to schedule an appointment by phone or in-person. Nothing is needed to set up a registration time.  Registration will be held in the Gathering Place on the 2nd floor of The Salvation Army and will take approximately 15 minutes during the following hours:

  • Saturday, November 2: 8:00am – 3:45pm
  • Monday, November 4: 8:00am – 3:45pm
  • Thursday, November 7: 4:00pm – 7:45pm

Up to 500 households will be able to sign up for the programs.  Families with children ages 0-14 will be able to sign up for the Angel Giving Tree.  Christmas food baskets will be available to both Angel Giving Tree participants and households without children.  Food baskets include the necessary foods for a traditional holiday dinner as well as a few extra items to help families stock their shelves.  The Angel Giving Tree provides children with clothing they need for the Winter season.

To make an appointment, people are asked to call The Salvation Army at (608)782-6126 or visit The Salvation Army offices at 223 N. 8th Street in La Crosse. To help as many families as possible, The Salvation Army of La Crosse is partnering with other agencies in the community to avoid the duplication of services.

The La Crosse Jaycees will also hold registration for their Toys for Toys program at the same times listed above at The Salvation Army.  For more information on Toys for Tots, visit www.LaCrosseJaycees.org.
