The Salvation Army Honors COVID-19 Heroes on National Donut Day

Friday, June 5, 2020
Milwaukee, WI

What: The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County will deliver hundreds of donuts to the heroes of the coronavirus pandemic. Salvation Army employees will serve the small, sugary symbol of hope to:

  • Select National Guard COVID-19 testing sites
  • Milwaukee Police Department (Chief’s Office)
  • Select Milwaukee Fire Departments
  • Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office (Patrol Division)
  • Dry Hooch (Milwaukee coffee shop that serves veterans)

The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County partnered with Cranky Al's in Wauwatosa to purchase individually wrapped donuts at a discount.

Why: For more than 100 years, The Salvation Army has provided hope and healing to those on the front lines.

A fresh take on the tradition of the Salvation Army Donut Lassies delivering sweet treats to soldiers during World War I, The Salvation Army will honor the men and women who are fighting to protect the most vulnerable during the coronavirus crisis.

When: Friday, June 5, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Where: United Migrant Opportunity Services (UMOS), 2701 S. Chase Ave, Milwaukee 53207
